Scheduled server downtime: Monday October 1st, 2012

Hey all,

Just a quick note to let you all know that there will be a scheduled server downtime on Monday October 1st, 2012 from 07:00 AM till 10:00 AM Eastern Time. This is for an update to the game. Times for all time zones are:

  • 07:00 AM to 10:00 AM Eastern
  • GMT: 11:00 AM till 14:00 PM
  • WET: 12:00 AM till 15:00 PM (current UK)
  • CET: 13:00 AM till 16:00 PM
  • EET: 14:00 AM till 17:00 PM

I don’t know what the update is about. When I hear something about it, I’ll let you know 🙂

What do you think they’ll update?

Edit to add: Per Sapience’s statement: There are no updates:

Looks like the default messaging got posted instead of the correct message that should not have included any mention of patch notes. There are none.

This patch is for some minor adjustments to the performance tech we added in the last patch. We identified some issues with it (issues that led to the Windfola crash last week) and believe we’ve resolved them. The tech, as before, will remain disabled until we’re satisfied that everything else is stable (and wasn’t accidentally impacted by these changes) before we select a single server and enable the tech again for testing.

As with the previous test, we won’t be mentioning which world, when, or for how long the test will run to avoid any possibility of people reporting things inaccurately. We have full monitoring of this tech so we can see very easily what is and isn’t happening.
