The Farmer’s faire has go live! The festival runs from September 5th until September 19th, like I told yesterday. What can you expect this?
Farmer’s Maggot’s Mushroom Hunt
Farmer Maggot’s prized mushrooms are famed throughout the Shire and young Hobbits have long held a tradition of sneaking onto the farm to steal off with a succulent snack. Now it’s your turn to help yourself to a sample of his fantastic fungus, but watch out – Farmer Maggot does not take kindly to trespassers and you will have to keep an eye out for his dogs, Rip, Fang, and Wolf along the way!
I remember I had hard time getting those mushrooms last year! But….. There’s a little trick. Us “del” and then “u” to get to the nearest mushroom and use it. That will make it easier.
I do hope I can do it several times this year.
The Egg Scramble at Sandson’s Farm
Each year, faire-goers scramble about Sandson’s Farm in an effort to gather up the most eggs. This year, however, rumors are milling about that Farmer Sandson has been feeding his chickens special seeds, causing some of their eggs to turn peculiar colours. Make your way over to Sandson’s Farm, where you will be tasked with grabbing as many of these special eggs as you can to turn them in for festival tokens.
This was not an easy thing to complete last year. But… then I had an old computer and now I’ve got a nice new one which is much better. It has already helped me with races during the summer festival, so I hope it wil make a difference now too.
I’m going to try the “Del + u” trick here too to see if that will help me get the good eggs!
Manning the Market
Help an overworked hobbit vendor fulfill the requests of her impatient customers. Lend a hand tracking down lazy vendors, taking grocery orders, collecting apples and making mushroom stew!
I remember this from last year. It was very fun to do!
There’s one advice I can give you: Pay good attention to the shopping lists! If you fail to have the correct items, you’ll fail the test. And mind you, these customers are a picky kind!
You also may have to do a little puzzling. I find it fun and rewarding to do, though. I hope you find it as fun as I do!
Bounders vs. Drunkards
Will you help or hinder the Bounders? The choice is yours! The Shire is full of revelers and the Bounders need your help. Lend them a hand by scolding a few saucy, drunk fair-goers to help maintain order. Or, in the spirit of celebration, you could just pelt the Bounders with rotten cabbages – but make sure you don’t get caught!
You can work for both sides!
One tip for setting the drunk fair-goers straight: Pay close attention to the chat log! That’s where you’ll see the drunkards best. It may be best to wait a little group of fair-goers. At some point they’ll say something that makes it clear they’re drunk. Running around the faire isn’t always handy, I found out last year.
Cast your line at the fishing pond
For those of you who like to fish, there’s a special fishing quest! It can be a bit time consuming, but hey, isn’t that the whole point of fishing?
Mosey on down to the local fishing hole to reel in some extra festival tokens! While you’re there, help some Hobbits recover lost items, teach a squeamish one how to fish, and at the end of the day, trade in the fish you catch for additional tokens!
This can become very rewarding!
Sheherezi had quite some luck last year with fishing, so I think she’ll enjoy fishing this year again!
Rewards for the quests are Farmer’s Faire tokens and I’ve heard you’ll also get Bounder tokens/bags.
Hymne has made an excellent overview of the Cosmetics you can get here. And we can get a new Pony again! I think it’s time Sheherezi gets a new outfit. She’s still wearing the Gardeners outfit from last year. And of course, a pony obsessed little hobbit just NEEDS this new pony. She’s still nagging me about the Steed of Michel Delving. Granted, she’s working hard for it,s o she’ll get it. And if she continues behaving good, I’ll give her the Farmer’s Faire Pony 2013 too. Do I even have a choice?
